The Memorial Art Gallery is situated in the town center of HASTINGS which in turn is located in a very attractive part of East Sussex within the South East region of the UK.
Bateman's
Bateman’s is the former residence of Rudyard Kipling, run by The National Trust in East Sussex, occupied by Kipling from 1902 to his death in 1936. These studies were recorded over a series of lengthy vigils whilst the house was closed to the public, allowing the location to reveal itself and in doing so forming an intimate relationship with the space. Utilising lengthy exposures, the abuse of optics annihilates time to draw diverse spatial inner and outer worlds together so representing an alternative viewpoint of a hitherto recognised public space.
