Alex has developed the ideas that came out of a residency in Florida last year.

She is fascinated with the horizon as a metaphor for how we view life , how we respond to our environment and the connections between things in nature, for example how a knotty piece of wood can look like waves in the sea.

Alex utilises a variety of mediums including acrylics and digital imagery to create layer upon layer of texture and depth in her work. This results in ‘captivating images that allow the viewer to enter the image and bring their personal experiences and emotions to the work.’

The Artist reflects on what lies beyond the horizon and the limits we set ourselves individually and as a community, inviting viewers to consider the motivational Eastern quote ‘Individually we are one drop, together we are an ocean’.

Visitors to The Memorial Gallery can be assured of the opportunity to view a fine and stimulating collection of original and refreshing images.

Entrance is free and Alex herself hopes be in attendance on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between 12-6pm for the most part. The Artist also welcomes personal appointments and you can find out further information by telephoning
